UPDATE: Time to update my rating from 2 stars to 5. The Developer worked to understand my problem and added some new mapping features so we can tell the software how we formatted our file names and get the artist and track titling in the right spots and he added an option to override metadata tags and that fixed my problem. I now have a clean index of all the albums and songs we've scanned and can play anything on the home theater system via our android tvbox. An app like this that will run on the tvbox was hard to find and I'm very happy it works well! ORIGINAL: Like other reviewers we wanted to play music from our NAS drive through our home theater system via the attached Android TV box and this does it. My problem at this point is getting a full and accurate scan of my NAS. I can watch the system scan the drive for 15 min and only report 10 new songs were found in the log and maybe the song count goes up by 8. Each time I re-scan I pick up a handful more - but I have 340 albums on that drive. I can't just keep restarting this. I need a whole and complete scan. Is it an issue with free space on the Android box? Is it an internal time limit? Also, when I see the scanning stop, the Red 'Scanning' status text remains active on the Server link. It does not update itself making it unclear whether or not something is still running in the background. Letting it sit active overnight has changed nothing. This could be a great app, but it needs to pre-count files and track progress toward completion on the scan or give more guidance for troubleshooting.

This app is exactly what I needed! I have a huge album collection that I've ripped to my SMB (windows) network (LAN) through many, many years. My collection is massive. This is the only app I've found that works on an Android TV Box and can access my LAN. My TV Box is a part of my home theater system so now I have a Juke Box connected to my high fidelity theater sound system, and I can play all of the music that's stored on my LAN. It's heaven. PRSmusJuke offers a nice graphical Juke Box interface for selecting and playing my albums and singles. It navigated my network very quickly and easily and didn't choke on the size of my music folder. This app builds a local database of the music it found on the LAN. This database can be edited and organized locally which is a very nice feature. It doesn't change anything on the LAN. Using the app is very easy and intuitive. It's graphical so you can see your albums sorted by title or artist. You can add singles or entire albums to the queue list. You can create playlists, etc. I have another HDTV + high quality sound system in my outdoor bar by the pool. I will soon add another TV Box with PRSmusJuke there as well.
